All I can say is WOW. The inspiring, funny and thought provoking people who bring us TED talks have just launched TED-Ed to serve the mission “of capturing and amplifying the voice of the world’s greatest teachers.” So lets say you are a teacher who thinks they have an interesting lecture, you could pitch it to TED and your lecture, and if accepted, would then be animated by talented artists and then made available to the world. Or let’s say you’re the modest type, a student who has been moved or informed by an instructors lecture can nominate you.
Watch the videos below to get a sense of what is to come. The first video explains the idea and process of TED-Ed, the remaining videos are examples. TED-Ed now has its own YouTube page where you can see some of the initial videos for this incredible new resource and opportunity TED is delivering.
From TED’s Site
TED-Ed’s mission is to capture and amplify the voices of great educators around the world. We do this by pairing extraordinary educators with talented animators to produce a new library of curiosity-igniting videos. A new site, which will launch in early April 2012, will feature these new TED-Ed Originals as well as some powerful new learning tools.
