I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Kevin Volo, and I recently started work as SUNYIT’s Instructional Technologist. I’m also adjunct faculty for the Communications department, where I currently teach courses in Information Design, Mass Communication, Field Video and Video & Communication.
I am excited to start working with faculty and students at SUNYIT on ways of integrating technology into the classroom — both actual and virtual/online — that will enhance student learning and make classes more dynamic. In the coming months I plan on working with students to see how technology impacts their daily lives at SUNYIT and also in developing mini classes for faculty on the use of new and existing technologies in the classroom. I also hope to have an Instructional Technology Blog running where I will answer commonly asked questions and share news and reviews on how technology can be used in the classroom, as well as articles such as “Top 10 Things to Do in Angel for the End of the Semester.”
I am in the process of setting up meetings with faculty chairs and individual professors, but please feel free to contact me at any time. My office is in the Library, L146, and I can be reached at ext. 7167 or at email@example.com. I welcome your ideas for how I can help to support you.
